Venue:  The meeting will be held in CIEMAT, located at Avenida Complutense 40, 28040 Madrid, Spain.

Arriving in Madrid

Connections from the Madrid-Adolfo Suarez Airport to the town are by underground, by coach and by taxi.

Madrid-Adolfo Suarez Airport has two metro stations belonging to Line 8 (pink), “Aeropuerto T4” and “Aeropuerto T1-T2-T3”, for the different terminals respectively, which are also connected by shuttle service. To reach CIEMAT / Moncloa area, you have to change at “Nuevos Ministerios” station and take Line 6 (grey) towards “Ciudad Universitaria” / “Moncloa” station.

Note: Renovation works of Line 8 currently underway. Metro to/from the airport closed until 18 April 2017

Taxis can be taken from outside the T4 and T1-T2-T3 airport arrivals hall and cost 30€ (flat rate).
Journey time to the Moncloa area is about 30 minutes from the airport.

How to get to CIEMAT

The centre is located at the very end of the university campus (Ciudad Universitaria), and it is easily accessed by public transport.

To reach CIEMAT (see map and route here):

  • you can walk from metro station “Ciudad Universitaria” to CIEMAT in about 15 minutes, or
  • you can take bus number 82 next to “Moncloa” or “Ciudad Universitaria” metro stations,  that will leave you at the entrance of CIEMAT. The trip is about 20 minutes from “Moncloa” station. You may want to buy a 10-journey ticket for Zone A at the nearby “Moncloa” metro station.

Access to CIEMAT

Entrance to CIEMAT is restricted to people carrying appropriate badges that will be handed to registered participants in the reception desk of the centre. Access badge request form can be found  HERE

In the main entrance, you just need to go inside the reception and show your ID. The security staff at the entrance of CIEMAT will check it and they will give you a badge that will grant access during your whole stay (please give them back when you leave on Friday). Be aware that the process of getting your badge might take several minutes, especially if many of you arrive at the same time, so try to arrive sufficiently in advance.

Several signs will be set along the way to guide you to the building where the meeting room is. Indications will also be available inside the building (Bdng. 1) to guide you to the Conference Hall, located in the main floor (see CIEMAT map).

WiFi: Eduroam and a “Visitor” Wi-Fi network will be available during the meeting.

Lunches will be served in the CIEMAT cantine. We can accommodate special food requests.

Social Dinner: The social dinner can be booked for conference participants and accompanying persons at the same time you request the CIEMAT access badge request form (payment will be done at the restaurant).
